Noise field strength

Noise is broadly classified into two categories: conducted noise and radiated noise. Among these, radiated noise refers to the electromagnetic waves emitted into the air from wiring, and indicates the electric field strength. The unit of electric field strength is volts per meter (V/m). To express noise electric field strength, 1µV/m is used as the reference, with the logarithmic unit decibel (dBµV/m). Noise electric field strength must be kept within standard values to avoid adverse effects on other electrical and electronic equipment, and is mainly measured using disturbance wave measuring instruments (radio wave measuring instruments).
