Snubber resistor

In switching power supply circuits such as forward-type converters, a large switchback voltage is applied across the switch when it is turned off. Therefore, a circuit is inserted to suppress the voltage so that the switchback voltage does not exceed the voltage rating of the switch; this circuit is called a snubber circuit. There are multiple types of snubber circuits, and in CRD snubbers, CR snubbers, and diode snubbers, a resistor is used as a component, which is referred to as a snubber resistor.
