Snubber resistor
In switching power supply circuits such as forward converters, when the switch is turned off, a large switch-back voltage is applied across the switch. To prevent this voltage from exceeding the switch's voltage rating, a circuit is inserted to suppress the voltage, known as a snubber circuit. The snubber circuit comes in several types, including CRD snubbers, CR snubbers, and diode snubbers, which use resistors as components. These resistors are referred to as snubber resistors.
