UL

A non-profit organization established in 1894 by an association of fire insurance companies in the United States. At the time of its founding, its main purpose was to protect consumers from fires caused by electrical Products and Products by establishing safety standards, thereby keeping insurance premiums low. However, its scope later expanded, and it now covers industrial equipment as a whole, including electrical devices, as well as automotive parts. In 2012, it changed from a non-profit organization to a for-profit company and works to maintain safety through follow-up services for Products. UL standards are also widely adopted for electrical and electronic equipment.
