Active power
In alternating current power, it refers to the portion of apparent power that actually performs work. It is the product of the effective values of voltage and current, multiplied by the power factor. It can also be calculated by integrating the product of the instantaneous values of voltage and current over a cycle. The unit is expressed in watts (W). This is the value commonly used in daily life, such as for the power consumption of electrical appliances, and serves as the basis for calculating electricity charges.
