Active power
In AC power, the portion of apparent power that actually performs work is called active power. It is the value obtained by multiplying the product of the RMS values of voltage and current by the power factor. It can also be obtained by integrating the product of the instantaneous values of voltage and current over one cycle. The unit is expressed in watts (W). This is the value commonly used in daily life, such as the power consumption of electrical Products, and electricity charges are calculated based on it.
