Safe handling of AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount Vol.7: "Do not repurpose it"

We introduce safe handling methods for AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount. The 7th edition features "Do not reuse". It explains precautions and requests when reusing an AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount.

AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount

We occasionally receive the following from our customers.

For such , we explain as follows:

The AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount from our company included (packaged) with your device was adopted after the device manufacturer evaluated compatibility. Therefore, even if the AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount has been used successfully with another device, we ask that you perform a separate compatibility evaluation for each device.

Recently, most AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount use a "switching method" due to benefits like compact size, light weight, and stable output. However, in the past, a large number of Products using the "transformer method" were also in circulation. The advantage of the "transformer method" was its low noise (because it does not involve the ON/OFF switching action of semiconductors like the "switching method"). For this reason, transformer-type Products were primarily used in low-noise-demanding Products such as musical instruments, audio, and communication equipment.

In an extreme case, replacing the "transformer-type" AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount used with a device with a "switching-type" AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount just because it has the same rated input/output and DC connector may result in the device no longer meeting its expected performance level.

For the above reasons, we kindly request that equipment manufacturers continue to verify compatibility between the AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount and their devices when adopting it, and that individual customers avoid reusing AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount with other devices simply because the rated input/output and DC connector are the same.
