CEC (California Energy Efficiency Regulation)

CEC stands for California Energy Commission, which refers to the California State Energy Commission. In the United States, energy efficiency targets for external power supplies were often set voluntarily, except for California, which had regulations under state law. In 2007, Congress enacted the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA), based on the limits set by the CEC (the limits are the same under both standards). Today, Europe also establishes strict efficiency standards called the ErP Directive (Enterprise Resources Planning).
