CEC (California Efficiency Regulation)
CEC stands for California Energy Commission. In the United States, energy efficiency targets for external power supplies were often set voluntarily, except in California where they were mandated by state law. In 2007, Congress enacted the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) based on the limits established by the CEC (the limit values were identical for both). Today, Europe also sets strict efficiency standards, known as the ErP Directive (Enterprise Resources Planning).
